Dear Mom of an Emotionally Complex Child | ADHD, SPD, Anxiety

hey guys it’s Danielle with Danielle
gets it done and today Tania from Project happy whom and I are talking to
moms of children with complex emotions I’m a morning dog singing welcome to my channel if you I knew my
son has anxiety and possibly ADHD and sensory issues we are nearing the end
actually of the diagnosis process which I am really excited about Tania from
project happy home has an 8 year old with ADHD and we have this series going
which I will link the other videos and today Mia wanted to do a dear mom video
having a child such as ours is not always easy going the challenges are
there but there are also a lot of great things and we just kind of wanted to do
a video of encouragement so here we go dear mom of an emotionally complex child
your child is going to be ok and they are ok right now take a deep breath
you’re doing amazing you are enough you’re researching like a madwoman
you’re making appointments for therapy you’re researching you’re going to the
library you’re looking into supplements and medication and different parenting
styles you read a million books and that is awesome great job but don’t go too
far down the rabbit hole either you might drive yourself mad take some time
for yourself do something selfish every single day because if your cup is not
full you’re not gonna be there for your child fully and he or she really needs
you your child is your trigger at times he or she has outbursts and meltdowns
and you try so hard to stay calm and mostly you succeed but sometimes you
snap and you yell and your screen and you stomp and you slam doors and you
swore you what it congratulations you’re human and whom that is okay use that as
a teachable moment leave the room take some time to calm down and then reunite
with your child and apologize to your child talk it through with them and they
are going to see you take ownership of your emotions in your behavior and that
teaches them so much dear mom this is not your fault
this is not your fault I know I’m talking to myself here
I need this the most you are going to dig up every single moment you’re
thinking about that glass of wine you had when you didn’t know you were
pregnant maybe you formula-fed and you think that
messed something up you’re thinking about all the immunizations you’re
thinking about how you parented differently
before you knew better stop it’s not your fault and maybe you’re starting to
see some things in yourself some common traits that you and your child share and
then you go its genetic I have these things too and therefore it
is my fault mama it’s not your fault and if you do share common traits with your
child this is such an amazing opportunity because you and your child
together get to work on yourselves and grow and
how amazing to get to do that side-by-side and maybe you would have
never worked on these traits if your child didn’t point them out to you your
child is your mirror but mama this is not your fault because you know what
nothing is wrong your child is amazing your child is
going to be okay they are okay right now and you get a front-row seat to watch
your child develop and blossom in each stage and how exciting that you are the
first to see what kind of adult they turn into and what amazing things what
amazing changes and impacts they are gonna make on the world dear mom take
care of yourself breathe you are enough you are amazing you are okay and your
child is okay lots of love thank you so much for watching check out Tonya’s
video which will be linked below I’d love to have you subscribe if you’re new
give this video a like if you liked it and whatever your plans are today I hope
you get them done bye guys
