When I got to the GP, I didn’t even know what
to say to him. It wasn’t, you know, oh I’m feeling a bit sad and so I just said to my
GP, “Something’s not right but I’m not sure what”. And he was really good, he just said,
“Well you talk, I’ll ask questions and we’ll see”, you know. Within a couple of minutes
he’d diagnosed me. So after my GP diagnosed me, he said that he would get help for me.
When I came home late that evening I had a call from the crisis team at the hospital.
They asked me a lot of questions, talked to me for quite a lot of time and really checked
that I was safe, that my family were safe and my children were safe. And things weren’t,
you know, that bad that I was harming myself or my children.
